Nike Blazer x Ohio State buckeyes

August means back to school and of course, college football. Ohio State is unquestionably one of the most prestigious football programs in the country and have been wearing Nike jerseys for quite a while. This new Blazer High from Nike Sportswear uses their grey, white and red colour scheme and borrows from the tradition of slapping a Buckeye sticker on the helmets of top performers. The tricky thing here is that be it because of licensing fees or some other reason, the stickers aren’t those traditional Buckeyes, but rather a skull and crossbones made of barbells and a football helmet. Anyone at least 50 miles outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan can cop these now

It GOes Down In My Town

A California prison was in lockdown last night after a riot and fire left 250 inmates injured, some critically..

At least 55 of the prisoners at the California institution for men in the city of Chino were taken to hospital with injuries including stab wounds..

Foam projectiles were fired by 80 prison guards who also used pepper spray and batons in a bid to restore order at the jail, 35 miles east of Los Angeles..

Witnesses in the area reported hearing gunshots and explosions..

Prison spokesman Mark Hargrove said the riot involved 1,300 inmates in seven dormitory-style barracks and lasted for about four hours..

At least one unit caught fire and inmates fled into a yard while firefighters fought the blaze.

The trouble started at about 8.20pm local time on Saturday and spread quickly through the medium-security jail. Reports suggested that the riot may have been racially motivated and involved black and Hispanic inmates.

Some of the injured suffered serious head wounds and burns while others were stabbed and slashed with broken glass..

No prison staff were hurt..

A similar riot broke out at the Chino prison in December 2006. Investigators were last night preparing to take an inventory of weapons found at the scene.
